EU law & EUSS

There have been many changes to this area and new developments resulting from the UK’s departure from the European Union. Regular freedoms to work and live between the UK and the EU comes to an end in 2021 and specific deadlines have been given for certain types of applications from abroad or within the UK for family permits or under the European Union Settlement Scheme (EUSS) for pre settled or settled status.

Various deadlines apply and both EU, EAA or Swiss citizens and their family members should apply before these deadlines have passed. A strict deadline of 30th June 21 has been imposed under the EUSS but there may be options available to you even after this date has passed, until March 22.
